Guest Speaker at our breakfast meeting on Friday 12/10/21, Terry Morris, of Morris International, gave us some 'one liners' he has found helpful during his distinguished career as entrepreneur and businessman.

Over the years, I have picked up some thoughts and gems that have been very helpful in keeping me focussed.

Let me share some with you:

One liners:

  • What the mind can conceive and believe it will achieve.

  • Always look on the bright side of life.

  • The journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step.

  • Knowledge is no burden to carry.

  • Waste not want not.

  • A job worth doing is a job worth doing properly.

  • Honesty is the best policy.

  • Associate with successful people.

  • Plan your work and work your plan.

  • Get in over your head and swim like hell.

  • Dream a big dream. They have away of coming true.

  • It's hard by the yard but a cinch by the inch.

  • Nothing succeeds like success.

  • Want to make a rabbit stew? First of all catch the rabbit.

  • Bird in hand.

  • Make  a list of what you have  to do today  and do  it and remember people without lists are listless.

  • Procrastination is the thief of time.

  • Time wounds all heels.

  • A partnership is the hardest ship to sail.

  • Figures can lie and liars can figure.

  • I don't  mind extravagance but i hate waste.

  • Evolution not revolution.

  • You never get a second chance to make a first impression.

  • Learn the magic of compound interest.

  • You can't go broke making a profit.

  • Money talks and bullshit walks.

  • The lead dog is the only one who gets a change of scenery.

  • Tap dancers make a lot of noise but don't go anywhere. Learn to recognise them.

  • Too much wishbone, not enough backbone.

  • Life is not a rehearsal for when the big black station wagon pulls up they are not practising.

  • On reaching an age milestone such as 40, 50 or 60 think to yourself, it sure beats the hell out of the alternative.

  • Two men looking out through prison bars.  One looked down and saw mud. The other looked up and saw stars.

  • On the way  up you buy money with time.  When you get there, you buy time with money.

  • Better to give with a warm hand than a cold one.

  • Attitude is everything. These one liners have been invaluable to me. A positive attitude has also been an enormous help.
