The Club name was changed in 2000 to the Gold Coast Photographic Society. We average 70 – 90 members with a wide range of ages and backgrounds. The Club generally meets 3 times per month on a Thursday evening. There is usually a field trip each month where members meet up for a range of photography activities. Anton Crous & Peter Osborne, Prosthetists / Orthotists
Anton Crous and Peter Osborne are lifelong mates who have dedicated their careers to making a difference in people’s lives.
They attended university together in South Africa in the 1990s, and then their careers and lives took them to different parts of the world for more than two decades. In 2017 they found themselves working for the same practice in Queensland. It was there that they realised their combined experience, specialised skill sets and shared values and philosophy were the foundation for a practice of their own. Ability Prosthetics and Orthotics was born.
Their greatest reward: Playing a part in transforming someone’s life. In fact, it’s our sole motivation for doing what we do – designing, manufacturing and fitting prosthetics and orthotics that give our patients the freedom to live with more movement, support and confidence.

Cycling Without Age is a not-for-profit charity that provides a community service by connecting those no longer able to ride for themselves with their community and the outdoors by giving them free rides on trishaw ebikes, piloted by volunteer cyclists.
Wayne Sticher, Community Captain for Cycling Without Age Gold Coast, will speak to us about what Cycling Without Age does.
Contact details 0411057691 wayne.sticher@cyclingwithoutage.org.au
Website: https://cyclingwithoutage.org.au/
As a keen touring cyclist, Wayne knows the pleasure of riding a bicycle, whether it’s a trip from the Gold Coast to Mount Isa or Mount Isa to Uluru across the top of the Simpson Desert.
Riding solo and unsupported gives you time to think. One thing which wouldn’t leave my mind was the Ted Talk I viewed prior to one of my rides about a guy in Denmark who commenced a charity which takes the elderly for a ride on trishaws.
With the same determination needed to survive in remote areas on a bicycle, Wayne set about commencing and building a Cycling Without Age Chapter on the Gold Coast. In just over two years, it became the largest Chapter in Australia and one of the largest in the world.
Cycling Without Age is a volunteer community group offering free Trishaw e-bike rides and rides to elderly, less-abled, socially isolated, or people who just want some company using bikes which carry wheelchairs.
Our aim is to provide reconnection to the community and environment. Guided by principles of generosity, slowness, relationships, storytelling, joy and dignity, our rides provide a memorable experience for all.
The work has only just begun with many layers of benefit already having been discovered and the possibility of touching the lives of many people throughout many more areas.
Wayne, a retired Fire Station Officer is also acting as the Consumer Advisor to the Queensland Tissue Bank Governance Committee, Brisbane. The core objective of the Committee is to ensure the Bank is acting true to its purpose of transforming people's lives through quality, compassionate and innovative tissue banking, and drive its vision of becoming Australia's premier tissue banking service.
The recipient of a cornea transplant, Wayne is also an avid supporter of the Prevent Blindness Foundation.
